BYLAWS OF

INDEPENDENCE CHAPTER NO. 12

ROYAL ARCH MASONS

ARTICLE I

SECTION 1, NAME AND LOCATION The title of this body is Independence Chapter No. 12, RoyalArch Masons, located at Independence, Missouri.

ARTICLE II

SECTION 1. STATED CONVOCATIONS. The Stated Convocation ofthis Chapter shall be held on the Second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. On the Second Thursday of November and December theConvocation will be held in conjunction with Independence Council No. 49 of Royal and Select Masters. No Stated Convocations well be held during the months of July and August.

SECTION 2, SPECIAL CONVOCATIONS. Special Convocations may be called by the High Priest or set by action of the Chapter as provided in Grand Chapter By-Laws

SECTION 3. QUORUM. A Quorum for any Convocation consists of nine (9) members entitled to vote therein, including one (1) qualified Officer to open the same;

ARTICLE III

SECTION 1. OFFICERS. The Officers of this Chapter are such as prescribed by the By-Laws of the Grand Chapter.

SECTION 2. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The High Priest, King, Scribe, Treasurer and Secretary areelected annually at the Stated Convocation in April, and no nominations may be made for any office.All other officers are appointed by the High Priest. Installation of Officers shall be in conjunction with that of Independence Council No. 49 Cryptic Masons, at the discretion of the High Priest elect and the IllustriousMaster elect, and after the Annual

Convocation on the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons and the Annual Assembly of the Grand Council Cryptic Masons of Missouri.

SECTION 3. DUTIES. The duties of the Officers of this Chapter are such as prescribed by the By-Laws of the Grand Chapter.

SECTION 4. RECEIPTS AND DISBURSEMENTS. It shall be the duty of the Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, to see that all monies of the Chapter are safely received and deposited in a banking account approved by the Chapter. The Treasurer shall pay out only such money as may be ordered by the Chapter on warrants drawn by the Secretary and countered-signed by High Priest.

SECTION 5. SALARIES. The Treasurer shall be paid for his services $20.00 per annum. The Secretary shall be paid for his services the amount of $1.00 per member per annum. Membership calculation shall be based on highest membership attained during Chapter year.

ARTICLE IV

SECTION 1. PETITIONS AND FEES. Petitions for the Degrees shall be on the Form prescribed by the Grand Chapter, and shall be accompanied by a fee of $50.00.

SECTION 2. ANNUAL DUES. The Annual Dues ofthis Chapter shall be $40.00 plus Grand ChapterPer capita Tax. The Dues are due and payable on the First (1st) Day of January and shall become delinquent if not paid by theFirst (1st) Day of July, following.

ARTICLE V

SECTION 1. AMENDMENTS. Amendments to these By-Laws must be presented in writing and read at a StatedConvocation. No action shall be taken thereon until the succeeding Stated Convocation and only after due notice to its members. A two-thirds majority of the members present and voting shall be required for adoption. All amendments shall be approved by the Grand HighPriest of the Grand Chapter before they shall become effective. Any By-Laws conflicting with the regulations of the Grand Chapter of Missouri shall be automatically amended to conform thereto.
